Lisa L. Corcoran, Founder, 2003
Lisa L. Corcoran established Alternative Financial Services, LLC in 2003 to assist
small businesses and individuals who lack the time or skills to manage their daily
money matters. With integrity and professionalism, Lisa makes sure her clients'
financial responsibilities are met.
The unusual depth of Lisa's professional experience enables her to offer a broad range
of business and personal financial-organizing
services. Her role as a financial organizer for busy professionals, small businesses
and seniors is complemented by 15 years of experience managing office buildings
across the country. Having supervised building construction and maintenance, she
brings valuable perspective to her clients' real estate investment properties.
Her diversified background provides a solid foundation of superior skills in budgeting,
financial analysis and organization.
Lisa is a firm believer in the value of continuing education and QuickBooks ProAdvisor ® certification. She is certified as a ProAdvisor® for QuickBooks desktop versions 2003 through 2016, QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Point of Sale.
balance her passion for numbers and organization, Lisa escapes to the great outdoors,
where she enjoys camping, hiking and kayaking with her fourteen-year-old daughter,
Emily. She is also a wine aficionado and frequently manages to work wine touring into her vacation plans.
Kathleen Lorenzo, Associate since 2009
Kathy Lorenzo has an impressive background in data programming, accounting and bookkeeping. She spent 20 years as a computer programmer, writing and designing accounting systems for companies in various industries. Kathy also worked at several law firms as billing supervisor, where she evaluated and implemented full software and hardware automation.
Kathy is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). She has set up bookkeeping systems and procedures and manages monthly bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Kathy’s proficiency in client training, data conversion, hardware, software and networking make her a well-rounded member of our team. Clients appreciate her ability to explain the financial aspects of their business in easily understood terms.
Married with two children, Kathy enjoys cooking, reading, relaxing on the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Scott Ambrose, Associate since 2015
Scott Ambrose has a solid history in the world of finance and taxation. Over the past 20 years, he’s built a strong skill set by working with a varied array of organizations, from small businesses to large government defense contractors, and as former Finance Administrator with a mid-sized DoD contractor.
As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor®, Scott’s practical application of accounting procedures is an invaluable asset to clients. He understands what is necessary to stay compliant with stringent government requirements and pass DCAA audits. In the private sector, this emphasis on compliance results in well-maintained accounting records and efficient processes.
Certified in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, Scott manages invoicing, payables, reconciliations and payroll. He also prepares income tax returns, operational budgets and financial forecasts for small businesses. He holds current certification as a notary public. Scott enjoys building a productive relationship with clients, and displays a quick and diplomatic approach to handling issues.
In his personal time, Scott enjoys playing the guitar and piano, reading, puzzle solving, and working around the house.
Dina O’Hare, Associate since 2015
Dina O’Hare has amassed over a decade in business administration and accounting expertise. Working with mid-sized corporations, medical practices and insurance companies has given her a broad knowledge base of company accounting, office practices and human resource needs.
As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor®, she understands what it takes to run an efficient and accountable business. Certified in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, Dina manages invoicing, payables, reconciliations and payroll in a variety of industries.
Dina enjoys stepping up to a challenge. Clients appreciate her strong organizational and problem solving skills. Though detail oriented, she can step back from an issue to assess the big picture and choose solutions that satisfy both immediate and long-term client needs.
When she’s not working, Dina enjoys photography and traveling and blogging about her adventures. She bakes and plays tennis and surrounds herself with friends and family, including husband Tim of 28 years, and their two amazing children Brittany and Eric.
Andrew Davis, Associate since 2014
Andrew Davis brings with him an array of experience to support his role as a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®. As a former staff accountant with certification in desktop QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Point of Sale, Andrew understands the needs of the small business owner. He has worked with a wide range of clients in the contracting, service and retail industries.
Andrew enjoys stepping up to a challenge and responding to time-sensitive issues with right-fit solutions. Clients appreciate his organized bookkeeping practices regarding invoicing, payables, tax obligations and account reconciliations. His detail-oriented approach to helping clients understand their cash flow and financial performance also distinguishes his work.
In his personal time, Andrew enjoys walks and scenic drives with his wife, and family time with their children, grandchildren, and Roxanne, the family feline.
